JANA'S 7 DAY CHALLENGE - TIP #2 SPICE IT UP

Today is day #2 of Jana’s 7-Day Challenge.  You did it!  You survived day #1. Give yourself a big pat on the back.  You are a survivor so you can’t give up now.  Plus it’s all gravy from here.  Ugh there I go again, poor choice of words.

Now we need to spice things up a bit. 

A great way to enhance the flavor of food without adding fat or sugar is to use spices.  Many spices even have great health benefits.  

Some of my favorites are:

Cinnamon
Ginger
Pepper
Rosemary
Cilantro
Oregano
Celery seed
Cumin
Curry
Paprika
Turmeric

Here are a few examples of their uses. Cinnamon can add a little sweetness to foods.  Rosemary tastes great on chicken and roasted red potatoes.  Mexican food comes to life with a little cumin and cilantro.  Black pepper is great in just about everything.  For a healthy drink make a tea of ginger and turmeric seeped in water. 

There are so many spices to choose from so have fun exploring the different flavors.
